DAY 1 & 2 :
ARRIVAL IN MAUN
This tour begins in Maun, Botswana - known as the gateway to the Okavango Delta. This is the perfect starting point to a Botswana adventure and enables you to stock up for the journey and also the opportunity for a scenic flight over the Delta before venturing out. Vehicles will be collected here and a thorough tour briefing is given before the adventure begins.
DAY 3 & 4 :
MOREMI GAME RESERVE
From Maun, we head into the nearby Moremi Game Reserve. Famed for its unrivalled beauty and incredible diversity of large game and birdlife alike. We will spend 2 nights camping inside the Moremi Game reserve and you will have multiple opportunities for morning and afternoon game drives.
DAY 5 - 7 :
KHWAI COMMUNITY RESERVE
Exiting the Moremi (although there are no fences to separate it) we move to the neighbouring Khwai community reserve. Although adjacent to the Moremi, the landscape is somewhat different and game viewing just as sublime. Camps are wild and selected for their picturesque outlooks. Elephants abound and wild dogs are often seen on tours to this area.
DAY 8 - 10 :
SAVUTI
Today we have a big drive into and through the Chobe National Park to reach our next destination - Savuti. The sand is thick and going can be tough, but the long haul is worth it! Savuti is known for its unbeatable predator viewing along with the usual large herds of Botswana Elephant and other numerous general game. Expect roaring lions at night!
DAY 11 & 13 :
CHOBE/KASANE
From Savuti we head to the Chobe River in the region of Kasane, where we will spend two nights. You will be perfectly situated to explore the exciting Chobe Game Reserve with its huge herds of elephants and healthy predator populations. And a visit to this region would not be complete without a sundowner cruise on the Chobe River.
DAY 14 :
ELEPHANT SANDS
Making our way South from Chobe, we arrive at a small campsite not far from the main road, where in the camps own words - “Elephants rule”. If you haven’t seen enough elephants so far, you are in for a treat, as hundreds of elephants head to the camps waterhole and you can sit and safely view them from a few metres away.
DAY 15 - 17 :
NXAI PANS/BAINES BAOBABS
Heading west, the Makgadigadi Pans are in sight and in Particular - Nxai Pans and Baines Baobabs. This area is quite different from the other parts of Botswana already visited and you will get an opportunity to see the ancient stand of Baobab trees, made famous by explorer, Thomas Baines.
DAY 18 :
MAUN, BOTSWANA
Sadly the end of the adventure is near and we return to Maun for one more night and if you didn’t already take a scenic flight over the Delta, this is another opportunity to do so. Onward travel from Maun is easy and we encourage another adventure deeper into the watery Okavango Delta from here.
